To us Pagans "All Hallows" or as it is commonly called "Halloween" is
known by another name. The name is "Samhain" or "Sowen". It means
"Summer's End" This is a time when the boundaries of this world and the
Other-world are the thinnest. This is a time to honor your dead and your
deities both Gods and Goddesses. Some of the Gods and Goddesses are
Hades and Persephone in the Greek tradition and Dis for the Romans. The Goddess
Hel and the Trickster God Loki of the Old Norse and for the Celts Gwyn Ab or AP Nudd Lord
of the Wild Hunt and Morgan or "The Morgu." This is a time to do Tarot
and other Divination Readings because the Boundaries of this world and
the Other-world are the thinnest as mentioned previously. So dust off
your Tarot cards and get work. Let me know how your readings go during

Now lets talk about the Hierophant-High Priest Key 5. In our last blog entry we talked about The Emperor Key 4. The Hierophant-High Priest follows in the sequence. The Heirophant-High Priest Face value is 5 but it's Hebrew letter value is 6. The Hebrew letter associated with this Trump Vav. It means in Hebrew "To Penetrate" It is called "Nail". "The Nail of Substance Drives itself in the Subconscious Mind. The Astrological Sign attributed to this card is Taurus ruled by Venus Aphrodite who lost her nighty. Venus is The Empress in the Tarot the consort to the Emperor who is the Sign Aries The First of the Signs. The Hierophant-High Priest is the Religious leader of his tribe. In many decks he is often depicted as stern religious leader. The deck I'm using here is quite the opposite. I'm using the Hierophant-High Priest from "Legend the Arthurian Tarot" by Anna-Maria Ferguson from Ontario Canada. This is one of my favorite decks. It was published by Llewellyn Publications and was done in water col-ours. When it came out I was given extra decks to sell to my Tarot enthusiast and friends. I have owned 3 copies of this deck. The Hierophant-High Priest in this deck is the famous bard of the Arthurian Tradition Taliesin the Chief Bard of the Welsh-Cyrmic Peoples. In other decks 2 male acolytes are venerating the Hierophant-High Priest in the foreground of the card. In this deck the two male acolytes have been replaced by 3 young children an older girl and a young boy and young girl who are listening to the Great Bard as he plays his Sacred Harp. Clair Audience is the PSI Power associated with this card also known as inner hearing. In my case this power comes through me as hearing a little voice which I have to interpret and make sense of it's message for my client-qua-rent. In a reading The Hierophant-High Priest will deal with religious or spiritual issues affecting the Qua rent. The Hierophant-High Priest represents someone that you go to for advice dealing with spiritual undercurrents. He teaches their Will and Law to those who have ears to hear. The Hierophant-High Priest has the Magickal Power to transport himself to the Other World at will. Here he communes with the Gods and Goddesses and gains their knowledge and Blessings. The Heirophant-High Priest is a priest, a prophet and a teacher and keeper of Wisdom,Secrets and Understanding. A transformer of the mundane world in to that of the spiritual realms. The Hierophant-High Priest does not always have to be seen as male the The High Pythoness of the Delphic Oracle can be seen as a Hierophant. So in the Feminine version of the Hierophant represents the font of Female Mysteries. The Hierophant-High Priest is an Elder of his or her community and commands a great deal of respect from their populous. In traditional ancestor worship the bones of a priest or a priestess were the most venerated and honored. I hope I have been able to shed some light on the Mysteries of the Hierophant-High Priest.
