Hi! Everyone! I'm back. I'm sorry I have been gone so long but it could not be helped. I was ill with a bad virus which I could not get rid of. I finally got over it. Then my computer messed up big time. Now it’s working okay. Knock on Wood. Tegwedd my Partner in Crime always tells me to do that when I say something like: My computer is working fine now. As many of you know Tegwedd and I are writing a book on the Tarot which many of these blogs are being used in its content. The title of this book is: The Ultimate Guide to the Tarot. More on this subject latter. Today we will be talking about the Lovers Key 6. Of the Major Trumps of the Tarot. The Lovers is many people's favorite Major Trump of the Tarot. Mainly because Love as a concept plays such a major role in people's minds, hearts and lives. In this case the word mind is the key. The Lovers Key 6 represents in the Tarot the Astrological sign Gemini. This is an Air sign. The element of Air represents all aspects of the mind and its powers. It deals with Travel, Communication, Networking, Writing and Education. The Lovers Key 6 is the Alchemical secret of turning lead into gold: Because it is the Path leading from Binah-Saturn-Lead to Tiphareth-Gold- The Sun. Binah and Tiphareth are 2 Sephiroth or Spiritual Centers on the Qabalistic Tree  of Life of which we will speak more later.   I add to the element of Air the concept of the machinations of the mind. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury. Mercury is represented in the Tarot by the Magician Key 1. The Magician-Mage is the Grand Communicator the Master of Travel and the Powers of the Will. Its letter value is Beth which = House.  The Hebrew letter for The Lovers Key 6 is Zain which = Sword. I like to call it the Flaming Sword of the Intellect. Another one of the names of The Lovers Key 6 is Unity. The 2 unite to make one whole. The Lovers Key 6 represents the uniting of opposites. The uniting of male and female and light and dark and hot and cold you get the drift. Gemini has been seen to be rather schizoid in that with the concept of Love: It can feel good or it can hurt real bad. Two sides of a coin. This makes life interesting. We need conflict to keep us alert. If everything was good all the time we would get bored fast. Conflict keeps us active. I'm schizoid myself. While  I write  these words I'm listening to  my Metallica channel which  I created on Music Hunter from U tube. I find the music very relaxing and well I should because I have Venus in Gemini in my personnel Astrological chart. Go figure. The Lovers face number is 6 but its Hebrew letter number is 7. There is a Hebrew letter for each of the 22 Major Trumps of the Tarot, 22 Major Trumps 22 Hebrew letters such is the way the system is set up. The Lovers Key 6 can be seen to represent all those great romantic Celtic Tales where in the many love pairs in these tales are united by their love for each other to become one in spirit, body and mind. However the opposite can apply. In decks such as The Tarot Classic, Swiss Tarot and the Tarot Marseilles the meaning is that the Quent-questioner must make a choice between at least two alternatives. The image depicts a man trying to choose between two women. One is a golden-haired young maiden while the other is a dark haired older woman. One represents passion and the other wisdom. A similar card to this in the Tarot is The 2 of Cups which is the Lady of Love and Friendship and it can represent Love, Marriage, Friendship and Partnership.  Finally the Lovers can represent the alchemical marriage between opposites of women and man.
